You made it over from RCG Looking forward to seeing your final product. I've always loved the Komander. Still have a spare kit too.

Re: Why do I have a thing for classic Sig kits?

I too have built and flown many of the old classic Sig kits... Komet, Cub, Kadet Mk II, Kadet Senior, Kavalier, Four Star, Something Extra... probably missing (forgetting!) a few.

Checking Great Hobbies website, not many Sig kits in stock, showing on backorder...

Is the factory still producing kits, or are they packing it in?

They had a fire a year ago wiping out their balsa production plant. It's actually a one man show cutting wood and they're still recovering from the fire.

Re: Why do I have a thing for classic Sig kits?

Great Hobbies has placed several Sig orders in the last year, they seem to sell out reasonably fast. I had a kit added to there last order and it is now sitting on my shelf awaiting it's time.

Re: Why do I have a thing for classic Sig kits?

When I called Sig about a month ago, they told me their kits were cut and were ready to be shipped out to their retailers/places like GH. But still am waiting too on one to show up.....

Re: Why do I have a thing for classic Sig kits?

I have never built a SIG kit but I am tempted to try. All of my planes are in the 20-40cc class so I would probably opt for something bigger that I could put a gasser in...
