Re: Special Helicopter Project. Chase.

Thanks Max. I finished him up just before I left for the Spring Fling fun fly in Spotsylvania, VA. and was able to get a couple of test flights in at the field (that lawn his is sitting on is our runway) before I left. He was very well received there and many recognized him from the show and some had seen episodes of the series on YouTube. I found some new material to use for the stripping at the local Michael's shops. It is called Oracal 651 Intermediate (I think the Intermediate refers to its thickness) and is sold either in sheets, short rolls, or long rolls, for vinyl cutters. I do have use for them but for the two jobs I have coming up, it's not worth the investment.

I did have some rather annoying harmonics coming from the body at my low RPM setting and at first, ignored it as I thought it was the body vibrating against the swash plate guide. It turned out to be the body rubbing the swash plate on the left arm and there was the possibility of the second set of swash balls hitting the body as well. A little trim with the scissors and all is good with the world again. I need to keep those in check as the canopy is held on with magnets only and even though there are 36 of them, they are tiny, tiny, tiny. He's already for another round of flights tomorrow. Take care.

Don

Re: Special Helicopter Project. Chase.

Thanks. I have a couple of pictures of the original Chase that I flew in the show. From these, you will notice the difference in the eyes. Take care.
