Re: Planes

Sure. Welcome, and post email up. There are many knowledgeable people here that would be willing to help. And if you put a location in your profile, there may also be someone close to you.

If you click on your hyperlinked username in any of your posts, a drop down menu shows the option of "public profile", where you can add location to what will appear below your username in all your posts.

Welcome also.

Re: Planes

Welcome to this hobby. I would suggest go with what chancy222 suggested. That way, the person can really ascertain the real condition of all your stuff. You can then decide which you keep and not keep.
Pictures may not show the real condition of things. Also it can be done in a few hours or day. Just post, ask for help. Someone is bound to be nearby your area. You will be amazed at what a cup/s of Timmies and donuts will do, LOL. My 2 cents.

Ok thanks for the tips I’m still havin a hard time figureing out how to put my location and email in my profile but until I figure it out I’m hoping I can get away will outing that info in my adds for sale I guess. From what I’m seeing unless told differently I’m seeing that the planes them self don’t seem to be where the money is it’s in the motors and parts and electronics that go into the planes is that right I have around 30 still in box not built yet model planes but don’t no how to put a price on them. Very few still have prices on them still but they were most likely purchased in the 90s and early 2000s not sure if they would be cheaper now or more expensive

Let's try again with more details:
-click on your hyperlinked username
-in the drop down menu, click on public profile
-in public profile, click on "about me/friends"
-in the drop list of items will be your current public information, both the ones you filled and the ones that are still blank; click on the "pencil" icon on location, etc., and an empty field will open; enter your information in that field

I just tried it with my profile and it worked. Keep trying; putting in your general location will help a lot with both getting help and in selling stuff.

Some opinions and suggestions:

Yes, finished/built models, with the exception of a "masterpiece", seem to bring less than the unstarted kit....the installed electronics from the 90s and 2000s very likely will bring only a fraction of their original retail price or zero; engines? depends on the engine (I wish I had gone ahead in 1980s and bought 8 Cox .010 engines for that mini Spruce Goose project instead of the several new in box/old stock Astro brushed motors I still have - smiley)
partially built models always bring less than the unstarted kit

both completed planes and started kits (apart from started kit where a started minor part like a stab or fin can be sacrificed) are very difficult/almost impossible to ship and your location has dozens not hundreds/thousands of modelers within driving distance. Swap meets are good place to dispose of completed planes: the October swap meet in London is probably the biggest swap and lots of completed planes are brought there for sale

Getting some price estimates:
As others have suggested a couple of knowledgeable modelers visiting with you can offer some estimates
-posting pictures here on this forum - without offering them for sale - will generate lots of estimates and provide fun for all
-use the search field on this site and the search field on rcgroups.com, entering the name of kit/almost ready to fly model; the U.S. forum almost certainly will provide some returns

Ok here is a few engines that were easiest to get at right this moment I don’t believe any of these have ran before I can tell what they are by the markings On them and the boxes but not sure what they would be valued at for resale I do believe the os max 91is probably the most expensive item I have out of everything I got by the sticker I see on the top of the box and the motors was sold separately from the muffler and fan turbine thing on the front of it
